Month in Review – September

Yeah, I dropped the ball on the July and August monthly reviews. But now that life is a little more sane, I’m going to get back to it.

Thanks to your readership, September was our biggest month yet!! Legal Andrew saw 16,425 visits. I’m darn proud of that number, but now I have to break 20,000!

I was a little sluggish with posting this month. I only wrote 10 posts, but I hope that content was useful to you.

73 Reasons Lists Earn Traffic and Money

I’ll bet you came here looking for a list of 73 things, didn’t you? Maybe you thought I’d link to 73 sites or write a nice numbered list that went up to 73.

Pardon the misdirection, but you’ve stumbled upon my little social experiment. Please bear with me while I explain.

Like most of you, I subscribe to a number of RSS feeds. Every day I see more and more posts entitled “7 ways to make money” or “11 easy tips for losing weight.” You know what I’m talking about.

Sure, these posts have proven …

I Need You – Guide This Blog

Thanks to you great readers, Legal Andrew has been trucking along for well over a year. After 649 posts, I have decided to revamp the site. But I need your input!

My two main goals with these changes are to enhance your experience and present a stronger, more professional brand of myself.

I’ve got plenty of ideas and aspirations, but I want your feedback throughout the entire process. That means I should start gathering opinions and suggestions now. Here are a few questions I’ve been pondering:

If you could change one thing at Legal Andrew, what would it be?

How …

Don’t Forget About Amazon Associates

In our busy world, it’s easy to forget about things that are on the back burner. That’s what happened to me with Amazon Associates.

I signed up with Amazon way back when I started blogging, but I never saw any money coming my way. I put some links and product units on my pages, but nothing really happened with them.

Then AdSense started to kick in nicely, followed by Text Link Ads. I naturally focused on the programs that were actually bearing fruit. Consequently, I neglected Amazon Associates.

But a couple weeks ago I actually got an …

Links – Blog Project Ends, Personal Finance Tip

I don’t do much “speedlinking” around here, but I wanted to share some links with you guys today.

Blog Project Three: Final List – Daniel’s blog project at Daily Blog Tips just ended, and he posted all 114 entries. Check them out for some fun reading.

3 Reasons Why Daily Blog Tips Sucks – This is my favorite entry to the blog project. It’s a nice ironic twist. 🙂

Top 3 Reasons You Should Stop Reading Blogs – I couldn’t agree more. We’d all be more productive, if we just stopped reading (and writing) blogs. …

Record Month – 12000 Visitors, $560

I’ve enjoyed doing these monthly reviews. It gives me an excuse to look through statistics, like I don’t do that enough. Plus, I set goals for the blog and myself.

Traffic and income

This month, we topped two great goals together. First, Legal Andrew saw 12,300 visitors in June. That’s about a 50% increase since April and May! Needless to say, I’m definitely excited. Although now it’s going to be tough to keep growing. But with your great participation, we’ll find a way.

Second, blog earnings reached a new high in June – $560. Here …

Technorati Sucks, but Friends Rule!

How long have you fiddled with Technorati on your blog? You claim your blog, get the spiffy widget running, build up a fan base, tag all your posts, etc. What do you get in return?

Yes, I’m exaggerating a little. But let me make my point. Technorati just isn’t worth the trouble.

Aside from initial setup, Technorati has other problems. For months now, Technorati has had problems with blogs being “flagged for review.” Just look at the threads in their support forums where blogs aren’t being updated properly.

And submitting a support ticket gets no …

Month in Review – May

It’s been a big month in my personal life, and I hope the blog has kept up with your expectations. By the way, I’m now “Andrew Flusche, J.D.” 🙂

Traffic for May was right on target with April – about 8200 visits each month. I’m pretty darn happy with that, but I hope to see more growth in June. Too bad I have to study for the bar exam!
