Travelgoop aims to improve the user experience of Hotwire and Priceline. The basic idea is that there’s power in numbers and information. But it does get a bit more complicated.

The site is beginning to collect info that users enter about their successful purchases on Hotwire and Priceline. Simply enter the hotel, the price, and the dates for your stay. This will enable Travelgoop to have a database of price history for hotel rooms.

The price history information will aid users, since now they know more precisely the hotels that their money is buying. Information is power, right?

One neat tool that Travelgoop incorporates is a personal savings gauge. This will let you see how much you’ve saved over time by using Hotwire and Priceline, combined with Travelgoop. You can also see how much other people have saved, creating something of a travel community.

The only drawback to Travelgoop right now is that there isn’t much price data in the database. But hopefully that will change as it takes off. It will definitely be interesting to see what this site is like a year from now.
