My guess is that it&#039;s a combination of a high interest rate, combined with a good estimate of your actual recovery chances.  It&#039;s similar to the way contingent fees work - attorneys get good enough to balance the risks and ensure they are bringing in more money than they&#039;re spending on the losers.
