Online marketing is definitely a crowded arena, and there’s a new player on the block. This one gives an old tool a new twist which is evident even through its name: Million Dollar Wiki.

The idea is pretty simple. Each page is a unique word or phrase that someone buys for $100. The owner creates the page content and can even resell the page itself. As of this writing, 127 pages have already been sold, including premium words like Internet, Business, and Insurance.

From my perspective, there are three primary ways to monetize your page on the Million Dollar Wiki.

Google AdSense – This looks like the main way that current page owners are earning revenue. A few page owners have already recouped the cost of their page strictly through AdSense. It’s easy to setup and mindless to run.
Mini-business – You could setup a mini-storefront on your wiki page. It would serve as a landing page for your existing store or business. As the wiki gains PageRank and popularity, your page might gain high placement in search engine results, giving you more traffic.
Resale – I’m sure some people are buying pages as investments, to later resell them. If you get a desirable word or phrase early on, this might be a good tactic. Be sure to read the resale guide first.
