we hired an attorney in costa mesa, ca. to make a long story short they are in the middle of out loan mod., and you can’t reach them by phone or fax they have like just shut down. So I call the attornewy generals office and they help a little on filing complaints. Come to find out public knowledge he will loose his liscense on 16th of Oct due to unlawful sexual intercourse with a person under 18 years of age (2 counts). Now I’m in the middle of this loan mod. I have no idea where to turn I need help right now, there sending back our payments now to us. So I have to try and contact someone at the mortage company which have tried before and they won’t even talk to you. sent them an e-mail today as well.
How did the law allow this guy to take on clients without disclosing this, seems illegal to me. .

it seems you’ve left this site.. but if you haven’t.. My lawyer took 5 yrs to try and settle my car accident.. and it’s still not settled. I feel he’s working for the insurance company. he started with asking $90000 which I thought was to high. but just recently jumped down to $25000 nothing between.. Now he wants me to except a settlement for $10000 of that I may get $3000 due to his bills.. Now he wants me to send him $900 to do a deposition on one of my Doctors?? is this ethical? and if I fire him seeing the trail is maybe 3 weeks away. because this is an injury case and he’s supose to get 1/3 of the settle ment if he wins.. can I get my files from him or do I have to pay for them? any one know?

I forgot to say , do we have the wrong kind of lawyer? He says that if we get our insurance cut off that has nothing to do with him. He said that if my husbands benifits counselor was sending short term disability when he was getting work comp and we needed to know what to do to make them straighten it out that was our problem not his. More or less we are completely on our own. he has been as rude as the people where my husband works. That just seems unprofessional shouldnt he protect my husbands interests instead of brushing our concerns off and acting like he is a slip and fall case that worked there a day and fell down pretending to be hurt. I understand there is a lot of that. But, shouldnt he have had time after having my husbands case for almost a year to figure out my husband has been hurt repeatedly at a job he liked and intended to retire from someday. It makes me wonder if my husband may not be able to offer as much to the lawyer as the company can for the lawyer to let my husband lose.

My husband was hurt at work. We didnt know what ot do , we didnt get a lawyer. When he went back to work he just kept getting worse. We went from doctor to doctor , specialist to specialist used all our money , savings and still no answers they were treating him badly at work and he has worked there for over 25 years started when he was just a kid. Now we have a lawyer but he is just a work comp lawyer , we were told he was good but he is rude, he has been highly rude to me and I told him when I contacted him that my husband couldnt read and was a good man. He was rude to my husband yesterday my husband told him that he was just a country boy and didnt understand all of the legal stuff and the lawyer raised his voice and told my husband not to even go there because he had been cheated by country boys. He told me that just because what he was telling us didnt fit my pistal that wasnt his problem. It just feels like he doesnt give a damn about what happens . He is a lawyer that only gets paid if you do. Has he decided that there wont be a big pay off so my husband is just an irratation or something . Im worried.

Hello: I retained a lawyer over 3 months ago. However, he has since left the firm and I have had no reply or contact from them in over months. How should I word my letter to dismiss them and can I e-mail it to them? We were just in the discovery phase, they just gathered my medical records, but i’m not sure that was even done. When I called for my lawyer after not hearing from him for so long, I was told he “took another job.”

Hello my name is Erika Martin I had a personal injury in 2008. I had a baby in August 13th, 2008 4 weeks later on September 18th, 2008 I slipped and fell in a grocery. One of the grocery workers ran over and tried to help me up and he stepped on my foot and caused me to slip and fall again. I injured my back, neck, tailbone, hand, and head. When I stood up I had a instant headache. I have a lawyer but I fell as if he is not working hard on my case. I was suppose to return to back to work on October 2008 but I didn’t because I am still suffering with bad back and neck pains. Every week I suffer with headaches because of the fall. My injures are Lumbosacral Sprain/strain, Thoracic sprain/strain, cervical sprain/strain, brachial neuritis/radiculitis and Lumbar Disc. Dorsolumbar range of motion was decreased upon flexion and extension. I have increase pain to my lumbosacral spine upon all planes of motion. I have some sensory lost to the right side of my body. I also need future medical treatment but I don’t have the money to pay for it. I have a medical bills that are over $4,000. I just don’t know what to do because I have a lawyer and he is not doing what he needs to do to get me a better offer. Please help me because the insurance company offered me a $4,500 that is not enough because I have missed out on so much money from work. Also pain and suffering need more medical treatment. Please tell me what I should do thank you so much…

We fired our attorney about two weeks ago and are looking for a new one. My family lost our brother due to foul play due to his live in partner a pain management physician. We paid a great deal $34,000 and to date over one year later, the physician has had no deposition. A young lawyer who was handling our case, left suddenly for another position last Feb. The firm didn’t notify us, we found out when we called for him. The partner of the firm took over, however we’ve had to call him continually to get updates. He was telling my sister that he was talking to his girl friend about medical aspects of the case, she is a pediatrician. We were concerned about him talking about the case outside of his firm. My sister’s date for her deposition last month was fast approaching and in preparation, we provided timelines, details, answers to questions our lawyer had asked us to prepare. I took time off from work and flew across the country along with my sister to talk with our lawyer and prepare for the deposition. When we got to his office, he left the door open on the conference room, had to pick up his children’s toys from the floor, kept taking interruptions for other cases not related to ours from his assistants and kept looking at his text messages. He didn’t seem to know any key details to our case, no names of witnesses, dates or key evidence we had been supplying his firm. He had files on the conference room table that he never opened. And he argued at one time with me…stating that I shouldn’t make false accusations against others in the case. My sister and I had to calmly point out that the supposed false accusation was actually a fact found and documentedin a medical record. He had this medical record for over 7 months and we had been in contact with his firm specifically about this fact.

We were horrified that we realized he was a complete idiot and had been charging us money for terrible service. Although we were concerned about my sister’s deposition scheduled for the next day, we didn’t know who to be worried about more, the opposing council or this moron.

We went to another law firm that helped us move the deposition and we ended up firing this firm. Since this time, we’ve only received highly insulting and accusing emails from this lawyer. I’ve never seen anyone act as childish as he has. We’ve talked and written to the other partner to get our files back but they don’t seem to care. We are currently trying to find another law firm to handle our case. Although we are limited on funds.

In follow up to the post I left on June 8th, the situation for this party has deteriorated in every way, and, I’m still wondering where her bogus attorney is, except to appear to ask for another continuance of competency and now added dangerousness hearing: because it is known she is of sound mind.

In this interim period, inmate, has lost ability to hold a pen and wrote, she is wheelchair bound, and has now lost control of bowel. This is found to be due to the 18-20 gas canisters that were thrown into her residence during a 100 plus officer siege upon an elderly couple. fifteen sherifffs cars arrived to deliver a fraudulent notice of eviction. (A CIVIL MATTER) The truth is that the couple had won full rights to the property, after litigating for a lengthy time, from countrywide. Furthermore, there was a civil matter filed in federal court alledging civil rights violations and acts committed under color of law against 37 parties. The same parties that brought about the death of inmate’s husband and her subsequent incarceration.

Although she has yet to have a prelim hearing ( in which it would be found that all grounds for her arrest were made by parties already proven purjerers and liars in court), she is being held in the State Woman’s Prison in the diagnostics unit. She has not been allowed to make any phone calls and I have no way of knowing if she receives my mail, nor, what her condition is.

She is dying. The neurological damage incurred during this unlawful act is irreversale. She is deterriorating rapidly. Yet, her attorney has not been able to secure a lighter bail ( she is presently being held on $500,000.00 bond w/o 10% option), nor, have her released for reason that she is not guilty of commiting any crime.

It would appear he has her placed in a secure and well padded environment from which she will not be heard, up to the day she dies, if she has not already died yet. Her recent scheduled hearing for July 23rd was continued, again, at last possible momment. New hearing date and time have not been set.

Should she fire her attorney?

He has withheld information regarding re-schedule of hearing dates and left her waiting for transport, even though he had seen her the prior day, to discuss, light-heartedly, the upcoming following day.

She received a correspondence from his office, while waiting to be taken to hearing schd. at 4 pm, handed to her by detention staff, that hearing was postponed until 2 months later.

Please indicate if there are oddities in this case. Why is her attorney doing such a poor job of representing her? He is a well established and acclaimed lawyer. She has been violated in every possible sense of the word.

My husband and I were injured in an auto accident 2 years ago, we were both injured with neck, back and leg problems, we have spent medical bills of 30,000 each and are now having to use our private insurance for treatment. We hired our lawyer on advise of his wife who is a doctor’s PA, big mistake! He has done very litlle to help us; he will seldom accept appointments with us we are always told he is in court , not true,and when he does, he has no new info to give us, he has not communicated with the insurance co., we were both forced to call for pip forms because he would not. This jerk has shown us nothing but neglect Should we FIRE him?
