Cool 3D Diamond Ring Gallery

Shopping online often means that you can’t tell what a product really looks like. James Allen is seeking to change that, at least for Engagement Rings.

This jeweler has a wide selection of diamond rings that you can view in full 3D. There’s also a neat gallery where you can see the rings on a hand. I made a short video clip with some thoughts here:

I love this concept, but I’m curious whether the movies are actual rings or not. When you view the hand gallery, it’s pretty obvious that the hands are computer-generated (although done very well). Perhaps these rings are all custom made, so they don’t have any actual pieces to use for videos. But I do give them high marks for the quality of the 3D animations. And the jewelry looks great!
