I have been somewhat more critical of online law degrees because (1) so few states recognize them for purposes of becoming licensed to practice law, (2) law firms generally disfavor online degrees (as you mentioned), and (3) I worry that some students are tricked into online law degrees without knowing the limitations of these degrees. That isn't to say the education is bad. It is merely recognizing the reality of our legal environment and the role the ABA has in approving law schools.
