Your Opinion on Blog Money-Making Strategies

Hello and Happy New Year to all of you! I would like your opinion on a very tricky issue: blog money-making.

I don’t write Legal Andrew for the money, but earning a little income on the side helps to defray the cost of hosting and time spent running the blog. Thus, you may have noticed a combination of Google Adsense contextual ads, along with “sponsored posts” that I write occasionally.

Now it’s time for me to get some real feedback from you. Do you hate the monetizing of blogs? Do you prefer one type of monetization over another? Has my disclosure on paid posts been sufficient?

You can provide your opinion in two simple ways. First, take the little poll I’ve put together. You can answer it below or in the upper left sidebar. Second, please provide any additional feedback in the comments to this post. Also, feel free to drop me a line.

With your help, I can make Legal Andrew a better blog for everyone. Thanks!

I actually don’t mind either. I totally understand an owner wanting to make money to pay for hosting and what not. If they can make a living out of ads on blogs, more power to them. I’m hoping to to make enough money on my blog to get out of Blogger and sign up for my own domain.

    Brett,

I really appreciate your feedback on this. I hope you can make your goal of having your own domain. Hopefully 2007 will bring success in that for you.

    Thanks for commenting,
    Andrew

I don’t care… Google Ads are everywhere now, even on huge sites, and a product review now and again is no big deal – especially if you are honest (or, brutally honest).

    Jason,

Thanks a lot for your feedback. I didn’t even think to put a “don’t care” option on the poll.

As you know, I am always honest with reviews. I haven’t used a lot of the services/products before, but I do tell it as I see it. I’ll be sure to keep that up.

    Take care,
    Andrew
